Summary:

In this role, you will perform complex workforce analyses and develop solutions based on thorough and comprehensive research and technical expertise as it relates to hospital operations, finance, and labor analyses. You will provide reporting to verify and validate workforce optimization and cost savings opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct data collection, interpretation, and analysis for labor productivity initiatives and trends.

  • Verify the integrity of data used for analyses, data collection including data extraction, storage, and processing.

  • Query large datasets and tables to provide information for business users.

  • Research and incorporate knowledge of best practices into identification of data sources and analysis of information.

  • Design and create charts, graphs, tables, and reports to support findings.

  • Identify trends and performance levels for metrics based on established benchmarks or create benchmarks using standard or customized approaches.

  • Influence decisions through advice and counsel to management and others.

  • Present data nuances, insights and recommendations to management and provide guidance in selecting cost savings and efficiency alternatives.

  • Serve as a resource to others regarding functional knowledge and expertise.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred.

  • 5 or more years of relevant experience required.

  • Experience in data analysis and reporting, demonstrating advanced proficiency in MS Excel is required.

  • Experience in health care labor data and terminology, finance, and/or hospital operations required.

  • Experience using SQL query language to access SQL Server databases is preferred.

  • Knowledge and understanding of key workforce management concepts and tools (e.g., shift management, productivity tracking, labor productivity metrics (e.g., hours per UOS), staff scheduling is preferred.

  • Experience or solid understanding of productivity benchmarking, time and attendance, staff scheduling, charge detail, payroll, EMR and/or HRIS systems (i.e., Kronos, Workday, Cerner, EPIC, and benchmarks such as ODB (previously known as Action OI) is preferred.

  • Comprehensive knowledge in healthcare industry practices, including labor data, finance, charge master/billing, and hospital operations, with a strong preference for candidates experienced in labor/workforce-specific benchmarking and productivity metrics across various settings such as acute care, ambulatory care, and corporate shared services.

  • Proficient in leveraging Power BI for advanced data visualization and analytics, coupled with strong programming skills in Python for data manipulation and automation processes.

  • Strong work ethic with the ability to complete tasks and deliverables under tight deadlines.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to convey complex data insights to diverse audiences, enhancing decision-making processes.

  • Willingness to travel.

Estimated Hiring Range:

$68,500.00 - $99,400.00
